Read anywhere

Add Toread to your Home Screen and what you saved is kept on the phone — the library, every article, its pictures — so a tunnel, a flight or a dead café Wi-Fi changes nothing about reading.

Take everything with you

Settings → Your data → Export everything. Every article as Markdown with its full text, your highlights and notes inline, a library index and your feeds — a copy you can open anywhere, with nothing missing.

New

  • Account, Exporting your data now includes your account, settings, sessions and connections, and AI-written text is marked in the archive.
  • Website, Toread has Terms of service, a copyright policy and a legal notice, and the privacy policy now says exactly what is kept, for how long, and what deleting removes.

Newsletters, shown in full

Open an issue exactly as it was sent, or in Toread's own type — picked for you and remembered per publication. Images load only when you ask, quoted replies fold away, and the list leads with your newest unread issue.

Save from anywhere

The Toread extension saves the tab you are on in one click, in Chrome, Firefox, Arc, Brave, Dia and Edge. Toread for Raycast does the same from your keyboard.

Then connect it in Settings → Extensions.

Folders, nested as deep as you like

Drag a save onto a folder in the sidebar to file it. Folders nest, reorder when you drag them, and take one of 79 icons or any emoji, in nine colours.

The daily brief

A few minutes, spoken, on what you saved: written for the ear rather than the page. Play it in Toread or follow it in your podcast app.

Toread already translated what you save. Now its own buttons, menus and messages read in Traditional or Simplified Chinese too. Pick one in Settings → Language.

Highlights and notes that stay

Five pens, a note in the margin beside the line it belongs to, and every highlight gathered on one page and in the Markdown you download.

New

  • Every tag in one place, under Tags in the sidebar, with rename, merge and delete.
  • Give a tag one of nine colours. New tags start grey.
  • Click a tag anywhere to see everything with it, or find it from ⌘ K.
  • Add and remove tags on an item from its Info panel.
  • Clean up tags suggests merges and fixes, and changes only what you tick.
  • Choose a face for your Ex libris plate when you first sign in, and it stays in the header.
  • Plates are numbered in the order readers joined, from #0001.

  • The transcript follows along as the brief plays, highlighting the line being read.
  • Scrub a brief's waveform to jump to any chapter, or change the speed it plays at.
