Save the page you're on

A button in your toolbar, or Alt+S (⌥S on a Mac) from the keyboard. Pick a folder, press Save, and it's on the shelf: cleaned up, translated if you asked for that, waiting to be read.

You'll need a computer for this

Extensions run in a desktop browser, and Raycast on a Mac. Everything below is here so you know what's waiting. Right now, on this phone, the + button in Toread saves a link just as well.

Add Toread to your Home Screen →

The popup, mid-save in Chrome. The same three commands in Raycast.

01 · The flow

Two keys and a folder

Nothing is saved until you press Save. The popup opens, shows you what it found, and waits.

  2. last one, remembered02Pick a folderOr don't. It goes to the shelf either way. The popup opens on the folder you used last.
  3. Saved to Toreadcloses itself03Press SaveThe same pipeline as the paste bar: cleaned up, in your reading language, PDFs included. Come back later and it's ready.

02 · Where it runs

Whichever browser you keep open

One build for every Chromium browser, one for Firefox. Same popup, same shortcut.

  • ArcFrom the Chrome Web StoreComing soon

Brave, Arc, Dia and Edge run the same build as Chrome, from the same listing. Safari doesn't have one yet, so save from Raycast instead.

03 · Raycast

Never leave the keyboard

Three commands on your Mac. No browser window needed, and no tab to go back to.

Toread for Raycast

Save the frontmost tab in Safari, Chrome, Arc, Brave, Dia or Edge, or any link on your clipboard, without touching the mouse.

Coming soon to the Raycast Store

Commands

  • Save Tab⌘↵
  • Save Link↵
  • Recent Saves↵

Raycast asks for a key once. Make it in Settings → Extensions; it's shown a single time.

04 · What it can reach

Allowed to save, and nothing more

Each browser you connect, and each Raycast key, holds a token of its own. Toread keeps only a fingerprint of it.

A connection can

  • Save a link
  • Ask whether a page is already on your shelf
  • Show a save's status, and your recent saves
  • List your folder names

It can't

  • Read a saved document, its summary or your highlights
  • Change a single setting
  • Archive, move or delete anything
  • Make or revoke another connection

Settings → Extensions lists every connection you have: when it was made, how many saves it made, when it was last used. Disconnect a browser or revoke a key and it stops at once. Everything it already saved stays where it is.

One button, and you can close the tab

Reading this on a phone? Extensions need a desktop browser, and Raycast needs a Mac. On a phone, save with the + button in Toread, or share a link to it.
